The name Tertium derives from the the Latin Phrase 'Tertium Quid' (a third thing that is indefinite and undefined but is related to two definite or known things) which is often referred to in Alchemy.
Given the nature of interplay between organisations, teams and their customers there are often elements that combine to interrupt the chemistry between them, creating challenges and friction to slow a business down. It is usually the unknowns in these elements where the friction is caused.
Tertium Consulting was created to help identify those elements and transform them to help companies improve efficiency, effectiveness and results of customer facing teams in B2B and B2C Software organisations.
Richard started Tertium after having worked over 25 years within the SaaS industry having been responsible for growing or turnarounds of Professional Services, Support and Customer Success organisations for global software companies ranging from 25 Million to 250 Million in Annual Revenue leading teams in excess of 200 strong.
Richard has served as Chief Customer or Chief Operating Officer on a number of occasions supporting his teams through numerous Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and exits. He has worked for companies such as RightNow Technologies, NetSuite, SDL, Bazaarvoice, Snow Software and nShift.
Richard's core beliefs are that ensuring customers are successful (not always satisfied) and derive value from their solutions is what differentiates companies from their competitors and leads to long-term customer relationships. He is a firm believer in supporting and developing people as the main driving force to make that happen.
